Anti–wrinkle injections are a powerful non-surgical treatment that smooths dynamic wrinkles and unwanted lines, resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

 RESULTS 

Most people notice a difference after three days with optimum results visible at two weeks. Results typically last for three to four months. Regular treatments will help to maintain results.

 WHAT TO EXPECT ​

  • Prior to your first treatment, our doctor will consult with you to assess your suitability for anti-wrinkle injections and discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

  • The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product being administered into the selected facial muscle/s using a very fine needle. The injections may sting for a few seconds, but no anaesthetic is required.

  • As the product takes effect you may notice a a change in muscle movement and a sensation of stiffness may occur.

 WHO IS NOT SUITABLE 

Anyone who:

  • Has Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome

  • Is hypersensitive to product ingredients, specifically BTX-A

  • Currently has an active infection in the area to be injected

  • Is pregnant or breastfeeding

  • If you are unsure, contact us.

 HOW IT WORKS 

Anti-wrinkle injections contain botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) which relaxes and weakens the muscles that are responsible for wrinkles and frown lines.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to treat the face, neck and décolletage and some areas of the body.

 TREATMENT PREPARATION 

Avoid blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil, one week prior to treatment.

Advise your clinician if you:

  • Have an auto-immune disorder

  • Are regularly taking anti-coagulation therapy (i.e.: Warfarin,) Heparin

  • Have a severe metabolic or systemic disorder

  • Have active sunburn, eczema or psoriasis

  • Are currently taking aminoglycoside antibiotics

  • Are under 18 years of age (seven-day cooling-off period is required)

 POST TREATMENT CARE 

  • Avoid touching the injection sites for four hours

  • Avoid ‘facing-down’ or local pressure treatments (e.g. massage, facials, motorbike helmets, swimming goggles) for 12 hours

  • Avoid strenuous exercise and heat (e.g. saunas, LED) for 24 hours

 FOLLOW UP AND NEXT STEPS 

To ensure that you are happy and that optimal results are achieved, it is recommended that you attend a review appointment and assessment at two weeks to check muscle activity and aesthetic outcome.

Your next treatment is due within three to four months.
