At the heart of the product line’s formulation lies the innovative m.acne complex™, a unique combination of active ingredients selected specifically for their complementary properties. The formula contains salicylic acid, mandelic acid and sodium lepargilate, which combined with the exclusive bexaretinyl complex have a unique synergistic action that produces deep cleansing and comprehensive renewal of acne-prone and seborrheic skin. The properties of m.acne complex™ have been studied at an in-vitro level, and they have shown to reduce redness and swelling in lesions, as well as to have a depigmentation effect by reducing the ability to synthesise melanin.

ACNELAN RESULTS
- Decrease in sebum production: this slows down the secretory activity of sebaceous glands.
- Control of bacterial proliferation: this inhibits the growth and reproduction of the strains making up the skin flora, which may infect blocked pilosebaceous canals.
- Less redness and epidermal swelling: this reduces and soothes the intensity of the inflammatory process of acne outbreaks.
- Lightening of post-acne hyperpigmentation: this improves the appearance of hyperpigmented areas of skin after an acne outbreak.
The key to maintaining results following your Acnelan Peel is to continue the at-home skin care and maintenance. This will maintain and maximise the results you will experience. In severe acne cases, 2-4 annual treatments may be required.
POST ACNELAN PROCEDURE CARE
HOW ACNELAN PEEL WORKS
The application protocol for the treatment consists of in-clinic medical peel treatments across 3 sessions, with 15 to 21 days between sessions, under the guidance of the specialist leading the treatment and in accordance with the sensitivity and regenerative properties of the skin to be treated.
The Acnelan® method combines an intensive medical treatment with a full line of products for maintenance at home, which includes: a cleansing foam for daily use, a cream with multiple points of action for daily use, an exfoliating and purifying facial mask for use once a week, and a cream for targeted use.
WHAT TO EXPECT
One of our knowledgeable team members will tailor a treatment plan for your individual needs and skin type during your consultation. During the treatment, a mask is applied to cleanse the skin and clear the pores. Excess oil, bacteria and dead skin are removed resulting in a decrease of inflammation. A post-peel spray is used to soothe and balance the skin before a pore-sealing shield is applied to tighten the pores and prolong the effect of the Acnelan treatment.
The deep clinical peel treatment takes about 30 minutes and is repeated three times, 2-4 weeks apart, depending on your skin’s specific needs.
There may be some mild discomfort immediately following but the application itself is very quick and feels like a regular facial treatment. Skin may be sensitive or reddened skin for 24-48 hours following the treatment but this will subside.
The skincare maintenance regime is continued at home for three months. This helps to optimise the results of the in-clinic treatment and reduces frequency and severity of future breakouts.
WHO IS NOT SUITABLE
You should not have this procedure if you are pregnant or nursing, have used Accutane in the last six months, or have active rosacea. In these circumstances, treatment would need to be postponed or other options may be recommended.
While there is always some risk with any cosmetic procedure, side effects associated with Acnelan are rare. Our qualified practitioners will assess your medical history, discuss all possible risks and complications with you to ensure you are suitable for this treatment.
After the treatment, you may experience some warmth and slight redness of the treated area. Some patients may experience peeling, which can last around 1-4 days after the treatment. This will resolve and reveal smoother, clearer skin. Optimal results require the at-home treatment plan to be followed. You will receive a home-pack that will be outlined by our team so you know exactly what to do to continue your skin journey.
Post care pack consists of:
Acne One: Cream for daily use designed for optimal control of skin types prone to acne and seborrhea.
Imperfection Control: Cream for local use indicated for specific treatment of incipient or stubborn acne outbreaks.
Purifying Mousse: Balancing, anti-pollution cleansing facial foam for oily and acne-prone skin.
Pure Renewing Mask: Intensive purifying mask. Exfoliates and cleans the pore to prevent and reduce imperfections.
Your skin therapist will advise you accordingly as to how long you will be using these products for.
FOLLOW UP AND NEXT STEPS
To achieve optimal results, the at-home skincare routine is required for three months. The products are included as part of the treatment. In addition to the at-home skincare regime, we also recommend the following:

Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours

Wait at least seven days before getting tattoos or filler substances

Avoid any skin treatment that involves retinoids

Avoid any waxing, epilation, or laser treatment for a minimum of two weeks

Stay away from swimming pools, spas, and saunas for at least two days
As the Acnelan peel only causes a mild exfoliation, the risks are minimal. It is essential to leave the skin alone post-treatment and trust in the healing process. Some people may experience peeling. It is crucial not to pick or scratch at the peeling skin as this can result in scarring, infection, and possible pigmentation changes. The daily application of your home care regime and your therapist’s advice will also ensure the skin is protected during the healing process.
